Ponson (Maxime)

Ponson Champagne is produced by Maxime Ponson, fifth generation of the récoltant manipulant Ponson family, in Coulomnes-la-Montagne, in the Petite Montagne de Reims. Eager to experiment and undertake his own Vigneron path, Maxime separates himself from the Pascal Ponson family Domaine and begins his production on a small plot of just over one hectare granted by his father. 

Here he cultivates the three typical varieties of Champagne, Pinot Noir, Meunier, Chardonnay, following the principles of organic farming in the respect of terroir. Maxime does not use chemicals and currently the vines are in organic conversion. After his first cuvée “La Petite Montagne”, others followed, all elaborated by him.  After the death of his father Pascal in 2018, Maxime took over the management of the family Domaine which he currently runs with his younger brother Camille.
