H. Goutorbe

The Domaine H. Goutorbe is located in Aÿ, a well-known Grand Cru-classified village in the Vallée de la Marne, 3 km from Epernay. It is thanks to Henri Goutorbe (1922-2009) that the production of the first Champagnes began immediately after the Second World War, following the activity of his father Emile (1890-1956) as a nurseryman, a family tradition since the beginning of the century. The Goutorbe family have been renowned nurserymen since the First World War and are still considered to be among the most respected in the whole Champagne region. 

The important turning point came with their son René who, in the 1970s, bought new vineyards and remodelled the cellar created by his father.  Today Domaine H. Goutorbe has about 22 hectares of vineyards, managed by Étienne (3rd generation), located mainly in Aÿ and to a lesser extent in Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, Mutigny, Bisseuil and Dizy. In the vineyards, a viticulture in full respect of the environment and ecosystem is practiced.

At the time of collection, a slow pressing with a separate vinification parcel by parcel is carried out in steel vats before assembly and then continue with an aging on its lees never less than 36 months and at least 60 months for vintage wines. The main characteristics of H. Goutorbe Champagnes are the evolved aromas and softness of each Cuvèe, the result being Champagnes with an irresistible charm capable of satisfying even the most demanding palates.
