Wirth-Michel

Since its foundation by Raoul Bouché, a professional cooper, five generations have succeeded in managing the Domaine Wirth-Michel. Today, Antonin passionately carries on the work of his predecessors, inspired by the strength and dedication of his mother from whom he inherited the company in Moussy, in the Vallée de la Marne. 

The vineyard, managed according to sustainable viticulture methods, extends for just over 4 hectares and is distributed across a variety of terroirs and villages in the Coteaux sud d'Epernay: Moussy, Vinay, Brugny-Vaudancourt and Saint-Martin d'Ablois. The diversity of the soils of this area (clayey with flint, silt, limestone with flint...), together with the chalky subsoils of Campania origin, allow the grapes to fully express their potential, contributing to the creation of rich and characteristic Champagnes. 

The vineyards, cultivated without the use of chemical herbicides or insecticides, come approximately 70% from mass selections and include Meunier (75%), Chardonnay (23%) and Pinot Noir (2%). Domaine Wirth-Michel is HVE (Haute Valeur Environnementale) and VDC (Viticulture Sustainable en Champagne) certified, demonstrating its commitment to environmental sustainability. A sustainable approach is also adopted in the cellar, characterized by long maturation on the yeasts and minimal interventions; no filtrations are carried out and the cold passages occur naturally. 

The winemaking takes place in wood (mainly in 600 liter barrels) and in stainless steel, concrete and enamelled steel tanks. This approach allows the complexity of each wine to be diversified, highlighting its identity and unique character.
