The origins of the Laculle family as winemakers of the Côte des Bar date back to the 1800s and throughout the following century they continued the activity as grapes suppliers for the great Maisons in Champagne. It is only in 2018 that the brothers Edouard and Victor Laculle choose to change the course and to create their own Champagnes. Rooted in tradition, the new vision is that of experimentation with a spirit of innovation, i.e. creating distinctive Champagnes that reflect the terroir and are firmly integrated with the principles of sustainable viticulture.
And it is on the basis of this vision that the philosophy of the Domaine Laculle Fréres is based: through each glass to fully express the potential of the terroirs of the individual parcels and enhance their characteristics, from the vineyard to the cellar. The Domaine extends over 14 hectares in Chervey, Meurville and Buxeuil mostly cultivated with Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and the characteristic Pinot Blanc. Eduard takes care of the vineyards and manages them with meticulousness and attention, while Victor is the chef de cave of the Domaine.
The release of the 2018 vintages of the three different terroirs (Val Moignot, Bourdon and Bicheret) marks the debut of the Champagne Laculle Frères in the champenois panorama. Vinified in wood and aged for at least 24 months on the yeasts, these Champagnes reflect finesse and elegance and were created to represent the style of the Domaine.
