J.M Gandon

Victor Gandon is a young and passionate Vigneron who is quickly establishing himself as one of the most soughtafter Champagne producers. His Champagnes, produced in extremely limited quantities, are real treasures to discover. Champagne J.M Gandon is the revival of a family heritage handed down from great-grandparents to Victor's father, Jean-Marie (J.M).

Victor inherited the family's vineyards in Branscourt, in the Vallée de la Vesle, and dedicates himself mainly to the production of Pinot Noir-based wines, enhancing this grape variety in an exceptional way. A total of 5.5 hectares are cultivated, but currently only 0.72 hectares are vinified, while the rest of the grapes are sold; however, each year Victor vinifies larger and larger portions of plots.

In winemaking, his approach is as natural as possible: he uses only a minimal amount of sulfur to stabilize the wine and does not add dosage, allowing the fruit to express itself in its purest and most intense form. Furthermore, he carries out a short maceration of the skins, giving his wines excellent structure and a delicate pink hue.

His first Champagne, “Les Pièces”, from the 2020 harvest, is extraordinarily precise, intense, the pure essence of the Vallée de la Vesle terroir. This Champagne is ready to be tasted now, but promises to develop greater complexity and intensity with aging for up to 15 years.
