Leclere-Minard

Fourth generation of winemakers in Coulommes-la-Montagne, in the Petite Montagne de Reims, Clement Leclere-Minard is the young producer of the Leclere-Minard family Domaine. Clement, following relevant figures such as David Léclaparte and Benoit Tarlant, is a candidate to be among the most promising young Vignerons in the coming years. After studying accounting and an experience in Australia, he chooses to graduate in oenology and to graduate in wine and spirits law to approach the world of wine.

From here on he begins his journey in which he perfects his skills and knowledge of wine and Champagne: 2 years of apprenticeship with David Leclapart, and then at Julien Guillot's Domaine in Maconnais in Burgundy; then a collaboration with Maison Tarlant in 2018. From 2021 Clement decides to undertake his own individual project by taking over the complete management of the 2.3 hectares of the family Domaine. Clement is a producer who loves to experiment, sometimes outside the box, he is instinctive but always with his feet firmly rooted in his land; he wants to produce brilliant, pure and free wines.

In the vineyard he follows the principles of organic farming (currently not certified) while in the cellar he implements the dictates learned from the great master David Leclapart: mono-varietal and separate vinifications for each parcel, fermentation with indigenous yeasts, woods. In fact, his production philosophy focuses on the elaboration of each vintage, enhancing the single parcel and terroir through the vinification in oak wood of single-variety grapes with only indigenous yeasts. The goal is to preserve the expressive integrity of the terroir by following the simplest and most natural way possible with "zero chemistry".

The first cuvée, Trame Noire (993 btg) was released on the market in 2021, following by further mono-parcel cuvées in 2022: Chardonnay de Coulommes (600 bt), Meunier de Coulommes (600 bt) and Meunier di Courmas. Clement is definitely a producer to follow, very closely!
