Gamet

The Maison Gamet, located in the Vallée de la Marne, in Mardeuil, is the story of a Vigneron family now in its fourth generation and was born with Victoire Garnier of Fleury-la-Rivière and Berthe Heucq of Mardeuil, after World War II. With the ambition to restore the legitimate value to the profession of winegrower, they decide to recover some vineyards by starting to produce and market their Champagnes and starting a tradition that lasted until 1993, when Philippe Gamet and Fabienne Heucq founded the Maison Gamet, as we know it today. 
Nowdays the company is run by Philippe, Fabienne and their two children Jean-François, oenologist, and Marianne, entrepreneur, both ambitious and promising young people in the Champagne landscape. Vigneron Indépendant, the Gamet family cultivates the vines favoring a reasoned agriculture and adopting practices that have allowed them to obtain HVE (Haute Valeur Environnementale) certification. The Maison's philosophy is based on the concept of evolution in an ecological framework, promoting viticulture at the rhythm of nature.


Located in the Vallée de la Marne, the owned vineyard aged between 25 and 50 years, is located on the right and left bank of the homonymous river on clayey-limestone and sandy soils, especially in the Fleury-la-Rivière area, offering minerality and softness to the wines. In the cellar, the wines are processed in stainless steel tanks and oak barrels that are specially selected by the coopers of the Region, those of Bordeaux and Sancerre (in the Loire), with the aim of accentuating the heterogeneity of the blends and making the elaborated cuvées unique.

Champagnes of the Maison Gamet reflect the know-how and the heritage of the Gamet family: while Philippe Gamet prefers the blended Champagnes, which offer a perfect aromatic balance, his son Jean-François Gamet discretely elaborates a collection of parcel Champagne, representative of the terroirs of the Vallée de la Marne.
