Prophète Yann

Yann Prophète is a passionate Vigneron in Landreville, in the Côte des Bar. His vineyard with its particular semicircular shape is framed on the sides by wooded hills like an ancient theatre, and is cultivated according to the principles of organic viticulture. Yann inherited this passion from his grandfather, already a wine producer, and from him who also inherited the old Chardonnay and Pinot Noir vines planted in 1973 and 1975 which he cultivates with the utmost care and attention. 
Currently the Domaine's vineyard produces around 40,000 kilos of grapes per year and only the best 2,000 kilos are used by Yann for his production, selling the rest to the large Maisons. The bottles produced are around 1,500 per year in the poorest years, which become around 5,000 in the excellent ones.
In his cellar dating back to the 19th century, Yann still keeps and uses a dozen machines that are up to 150 years old, operated manually and all in use, such as the one for dosing freshly disgorged bottles.

In addition to the rigorous selection of the grapes, its high quality standards are evident from the long refinements on the yeasts of at least eight years. Although he started producing Champagne in 2002, Yann Prophète decided to go on the market starting from the 2010 vintage, followed by the 2011 and 2012 Millésime. His hard work and commitment are revealed in his Champagnes with character and rich in aromas, testimony of love and respect for the terroir.
