The Domaine was born in 1958 in Vertus, a village classified as Premier Cru in Côte des Blancs and is named after its founder André Jacquart, very important vigneron from Le-Mesnil-sur-Oger. The Domaine is acetively managed by Marie Doyard and her brother Benoît, André's grandchildren and great-grandchildren of Maurice Doyard, founder of the CIVC (Interprofessional Committee of Champagne).
They inherited more than 24 hectares (over 200 parcels) from both branches of the family and in 2004, the Domaine adopted the old mother's brand and relaunched an excellent project, based on three principles: long resting periods on yeasts (5 years for sans année, 8 years for vintage wines), low dosages (around 3g/l) and barrique barrels for fermentation.
Marie can select parcels according to homogenity and then combines them according to the territory before pressing: a first assemblage takes place in this occasion. No malolactic fermentation for the Maison's wines.
They are now able to produce around 100,000 bottles a year.
