Champagne Nowack
La Tuilerie L.V. 2012
The Champagne Tuilerie from Domaine Nowack is a Blanc de Blancs made from 100% Chardonnay. The grapes come from the eponymous lieu-dit, a 60-year-old vineyard located near Vandières, in the Vallée de la Marne, characterized by chalky and sandy soils with the presence of marl. The vineyard is cultivated in full respect of natural cycles, with plant-based preparations, light tillage, and permanent cover crops, within an ecosystem where trees and wildlife help preserve biodiversity.
This rare “L.V.” (Long Vieillissement) edition reveals the exceptional 2012 vintage, with vinification and fermentationcarried out entirely in fût de chêne, followed by about 8 months of ageing, in line with the artisanal and terroir-driven approach that defines Flavien Nowack. After tirage under cork, the wine matures for over 10 years on its lees, developing remarkable complexity and depth. The Extra Brut style, with only 1 g/l of residual sugar, enhances purityand authenticity, delivering a cuvée of great personality.
On the palate, Tuilerie L.V. 2012 displays a broad and seductive bouquet, with ripe citrus, white peach, exotic fruit, and acacia blossom, enriched by notes of fine pastry, fresh butter, and toasted almond. The palate combines chalky tension and creamy roundness, supported by a mineral backbone that drives an elegant and deep progression. The finish is exceptionally long, with citrus echoes and saline nuances, leaving it vibrant and perfectly balanced.
