Les Arpents Rouge

The Champagne Les Arpents Rouges by Domaine Nowack comes from the single vineyard parcel of the same name located in Châtillon-sur-Marne, within the Vallée de la Marne, characterized by clay-silica soils that give the wine a marked mineral character. The vineyard is cultivated according to an agricultural approach that respects natural balances, with light soil work, plant-based preparations, and permanent vegetal cover. The presence of trees and animals within the vineyard ecosystem helps preserve biodiversity and environmental balance, key elements in the philosophy of Flavien Nowack.

This edition, based on the 2019 harvest, is produced from a blend of Meunier and Chardonnay grapes interpreted through an essential and artisanal winemaking approach. Spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts is followed by vinification and maturation in fût de chêne, without filtration or fining and with no added sulfur. The final dosage with grape must, in Extra Brut style, supports the wine’s profile while preserving integrity, precision, and expressive transparency.

In tasting, Les Arpents Rouges expresses a pure and profound profile capable of combining freshness and energy. The bouquet recalls ripe white fruits, citrus notes, and delicate floral nuances, accompanied by a distinct mineral character. On the palate it reveals tension, vibrancy, and a fine texture, supported by a long, saline, and savory persistence.

Nowack

Founded in 1795 in the village of Vandières, in the Vallée de la Marne, Domaine Nowack has been run since 2011 by Flavien Nowack, who grew up among the family’s vines and trained with experience in Burgundy, including a period in Meursault at Coche-Dury. Today, he is regarded as one of the most interesting voices of the new generation of Champagne vignerons.

His winemaking philosophy focuses on single-parcel vinifications (Lieu-dit), with separate fermentations and maturations to highlight the nuances of each terroir. In the vineyard, he follows an organic approach, with no chaptalisation or malolactic fermentation, and uses indigenous yeasts for the prise de mousse. A distinctive feature is the use of unfermented grape must for the second fermentation, resulting in slightly lower bottle pressure and a marked silky vinosity.

Alongside the Lieu-dit range, Flavien has created the "Cru d’Origine" line, dedicated to exploring individual villages, using both estate-grown fruit and grapes from selected organic growers. The first edition was dedicated to his native village of Vandières. A young talent with a clear vision, Flavien combines technical precision, respect for nature, and a quest for the purest expression of terroir.
