Partition 2ème Lecture 2015
The Champagne Partition – 2ème Lecture by Jean-Marc Sélèque was conceived as a rare and deeply distinctive project, expressing an unconventional blend: 72% Chardonnay, 14% Meunier, and 14% Pinot Noir, sourced from seven distinct parcels across seven villages in the Vallée de la Marne and the Côte des Blancs — Pierry, Moussy, Épernay, Mardeuil, Dizy, Boursault, and Vertus. Each parcel is vinified separately to preserve its original identity, following a parcel-focused philosophy that emphasizes precision and dialogue between terroirs.
This edition, Millésime 2015, reflects a warm and солне vintage marked by a dry summer and rapid yet balanced ripening, which encouraged aromatic concentration and excellent fruit health. Vinification and fermentation take place entirely in oak barrels, without malolactic fermentation, a choice that preserves tension and aging potential. After bottling under natural cork, the wine undergoes extended lees aging for over nine years, enhancing depth and complexity. The final dosage of 2 g/l, in Extra Brut style, defines a precise and rigorous profile.
On the palate, Partition 2015 – 2ème Lecture reveals a layered and profound texture: Chardonnay provides drive and verticality, while Meunier and Pinot Noir contribute dynamism and structure. Notes of ripe citrus, delicate spices, flint, and dried fruit emerge with clarity, unfolding through a broad and coherent progression. The finish is long and saline, supported by vibrant freshness and an equilibrium that combines intensity with finesse. Produced in only 525 bottles, it stands as an exclusive and contemplative expression of Jean-Marc Sélèque’s vision.
