The Champagne Cumières by Les Frères Mignon is crafted from a blend with a prevalence of Pinot Noir grapes, complemented by Meunier and Chardonnay, sourced from a single vineyard located near Cumières Premier Cru in the Vallée de la Marne. This area, historically associated with black grape varieties, gives the wine an intense and layered personality where fruit-driven energy and mineral tension find a precise and contemporary balance.
This edition, Vintage 2021, takes shape from a growing season marked by challenging climatic conditions and limited yields, requiring careful vineyard selection while delivering wines of strong identity and remarkable freshness. Vinification and fermentation are carried out entirely in stainless steel to preserve the purity of the fruit and the aromatic definition of the terroir. The wine undergoes neither fining nor filtration and after tirage it ages on its lees for 36 months. The final dosage of 2.4 g/l, in Extra Brut style, precisely supports a deep and dynamic structure.
In tasting, Cumières Millésime 2021 reveals a complex and vibrant profile with notes of ripe peach, yellow apple, and candied citrus intertwined with hints of hazelnut, bread crust, and delicate smoky nuances. On the palate, the mousse is fine and energetic, sustaining a broad and enveloping progression that leads to a mineral, precise, and persistent finish marked by an elegant saline edge.
