Spécial Club Aÿ 2017
The Champagne Spécial Club Aÿ by Gaston Chiquet interprets Chardonnay with rare elegance in the village of Aÿ, classified Grand Cru and historically linked to the great tradition of Pinot Noir. This Blanc de Blancs comes from vineyards located in one of the most emblematic terroirs of the Grande Vallée de la Marne, where exposures, soils and a long-standing winegrowing culture give rise to deep, complex wines with a strong territorial identity.
This edition, Millésime 2017, is made exclusively from Chardonnay grapes and is interpreted through vinification and fermentation in stainless steel tanks, a choice designed to preserve freshness, aromatic clarity and expressive precision, while after tirage the wine ages on the lees for at least 6 years, gaining creaminess, depth and continuity on the palate without weighing down the profile. The minimal final dosage, in Extra Brut style, enhances transparency, mineral tension and balance.
In tasting, Spécial Club Aÿ 2017 opens with notes of ripe citrus, white flowers, chalk and subtle nuances of fresh hazelnut, outlining a clear, rigorous and refined profile. On the palate it shows drive, finesse and a delicate texture, supported by marked saline minerality that carries a long, vibrant and deeply terroir-driven finish.
