Spécial Club "Cramant" 2017
The Champagne Special Club "Cramant" 2017 by Pierre Gimonnet celebrates with rare intensity the prestigious terroir of Cramant, one of the most iconic Grand Cru villages of the Côte des Blancs. Since 2012, alongside the historic Special Club cuvée, the Gimonnet family has introduced exclusive editions dedicated to single terroirs, crafted to capture their most authentic essence.
This Blanc de Blancs is made exclusively from Chardonnay grapes, harvested in selected lieux-dits of the Cramant Grand Cru such as Le Bateau (21%) and Buissons (65%). Vinification in stainless steel preserves freshness and aromatic purity, while a 7-year aging on the lees adds complexity and depth. The Extra Brut dosage (3.5 g/l) highlights tension, energy, and the distinctive chalky minerality of Cramant.
On the palate, Special Club "Cramant" 2017 opens with refined aromas of ripe citrus, white flowers, and subtle hints of linden and aromatic herbs, intertwined with nuances of fresh almond, chalk, and bread crust. The mouthfeel is dense and vibrant, sustained by a silky mousse that enhances freshness and verticality. The finish is long and pure, offering a crystalline saline persistence with elegant citrus and floral echoes that emphasize finesse.
