The Champagne Millésime Or by Gaston Chiquet originates in the Vallée de la Marne, from vineyards located between Dizy, Hautvillers, and Mareuil-sur-Ay, all Premier Cru–classified sites that define the historical identity of the Domaine. It is here that a style takes shape, grounded in a rigorous interpretation of terroir, prioritising expressive precision, balance, and stylistic continuity, through winemaking choices focused on varietal clarity and a measured use of cellar techniques.
This Millésime 2019 edition is produced from an equal blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, sourced exclusively from Premier Cru parcels. Vinification takes place in stainless steel, with malolactic fermentation carried out, a choice consistent with a style centred on harmony and readability. After tirage, the wine undergoes around five years of ageing on the lees, a process that builds complexity and integration, while the final Brut dosage is calibrated to preserve a precise balance between structure and freshness.
In tasting, Millésime Or 2019 shows a bright golden colour and a fine, persistent perlage. The aromatic profile is layered, with notes of yellow-fleshed fruit, ripe citrus, bread crust, brioche, and subtle toasted nuances. On the palate, the structure is full yet composed, supported by well-integrated freshness and a discreet mineral tension that guides its development. The finish is long and consistent, with an overall balance that accurately reflects both the character of the vintage and the style of the Domaine.
