Spécial Club "Oger" 2017
The Champagne Special Club Oger by Pierre Gimonnet was created to celebrate the luminous and vertical identity of the Grand Cru of Oger, one of the most prestigious villages in the Côte des Blancs. Since 2012, Didier and Olivier Gimonnet have developed a project dedicated to individual terroirs, crafting Special Club editions designed to interpret each parcel with precision. This vintage cuvée represents the exclusive expression of Oger, enhancing its chalky matrix, expressive purity, and natural aptitude for great Blanc de Blancs of depth and finesse.
This edition, Millesime 2017, is made from 100% Chardonnay sourced from selected lieux-dits of the village: Terres de Noël (61%), Brulis (20%), and Champs Nérons (18%). Vinification takes place entirely in stainless steel tanks, a choice that preserves tension and aromatic clarity, followed by a minimum of 6 years aging on the lees to build complexity and layered depth. The dosage of 3.5 g/l – Extra Brut – highlights freshness, energy, and the typical mineral imprint of Oger’s terroir.
On the palate, Special Club Oger 2017 stands out for its rigorous and refined profile, with notes of ripe citrus, white flowers, and subtle mineral nuances that enhance depth and persistence. The texture is taut and crystalline, supported by a sleek structure and a precise balance between freshness and fruit ripeness. The finish is long, linear, and saline, a faithful expression of the elegance and intensity of the Grand Cru of Oger.
