Coteaux Champenois Rousseaux-Batteux
Rouge "Les Champs Brûlés" 2020
The Côteaux Champenois Rouge Les Champs Brûlés by Rousseaux-Batteux is a red wine made from 100% Pinot Noir, harvested in 2019. The grapes come from the Lieu-dit Les Champs Brûlés, a plot of old vines planted in 1964near the village of Verzy, classified as Grand Cru in the Montagne de Reims.
The winemaking process includes a cold pre-fermentation maceration of 5 days, followed by 10 days of punch-downsand pump-overs. After malolactic fermentation, the wine ages for 18 months in barrique, with a light final filtrationbefore bottling. Production is numbered and limited to only 290 bottles.
On the palate, Les Champs Brûlés reveals an intense and complex profile, with aromas of ripe red berries, spicy notes, and hints of fine oak. The palate is structured and enveloping, with silky tannins and an elegant persistence.
