Champagne Rousseaux-Batteux
Les Potences 2020
The Champagne Les Potences 2020 by Rousseaux-Batteux is a Blanc de Noirs originating from the eponymous lieu-dit, located in the Grand Cru of Verzenay, on the northern slopes of the Montagne de Reims. The Pinot Noir, planted in 1975, comes from a 0.18-hectare plot farmed without herbicides or insecticides, with natural grass cover and horse-drawn soil tillage, following a sustainable and reasoned phytosanitary approach.
Vinification involves fermentation and ageing in fût de chêne. Bottling takes place without filtration or cold stabilisation, allowing the possible formation of a slight natural sediment that does not affect the wine’s quality. The wine is then aged for 36 months on the lees before a final Extra Brut dosage of less than 3 g/l.
On the palate, Les Potences 2020 opens with a broad and refined bouquet, dominated by ripe red fruits and wild berries, interwoven with spicy nuances and delicate hints of bark and blond tobacco. The palate is elegant and deep, sustained by a subtle mineral texture and a vibrant freshness, leading to a long, precise finish with great aromatic persistence.
A limited and individually numbered production of just 942 bottles.
