The Champagne Cramant Millésime 2018 by Les Frères Mignon is a Blanc de Blancs of remarkable purity and elegance, crafted from 100% Chardonnay. The grapes come from an east-facing vineyard, planted in 1954 through selection massale, rooted in outcropping chalk soils near the village of Cramant, a Grand Cru that epitomizes the mineral finesse and aromatic precision characteristic of the Côte des Blancs.
Vinification and maturation take place in fût de chêne, following an artisanal approach that emphasizes complexity, structure, and expressive depth. After tirage, the wine ages for at least 60 months on its lees before dégorgement, with a final dosage of 1.6 g/l (Extra Brut), enhancing the varietal purity and vibrant mineral tension of the Chardonnay from Cramant.
On the nose, Cramant Millésime 2018 displays a pale golden color with green highlights and a fine, persistent mousse. It opens with notes of candied citrus, white flowers, and fresh almond, intertwined with elegant nuances of toasted hazelnut, brioche, and flint, reflecting the perfect balance between oak influence and lees aging. On the palate, it is tense, creamy, and deep, with a fresh, vertical attack that unfolds into a chalky and saline progression. The harmony between vibrant acidity, ripe fruit fullness, and refined evolutionary complexity gives rise to a precise, energetic, and persistent palate, culminating in a long, mineral finish with hints of citrus and sea salt.
