The Champagne Les Fetées 2020 by Les Frères Mignon is conceived as a rigorous parcel-driven expression of the lieu-dit Les Fetées, in Cuis, a Premier Cru village of the Côte des Blancs. Planted in 1969 using massal selection of old Chardonnay vines, this vineyard preserves a rare genetic heritage, capable of delivering an authentic reading of the terroir, grounded in identity, precision, and expressive transparency.
This Millésime 2020 edition is vinified exclusively in stainless steel, a choice aligned with the aim of preserving varietal purity and an unadorned interpretation of the soil. After bottling, ageing on the lees for at least 36 months builds depth and continuity, while the restrained dosage of 0.8 g/l, in Extra Brut style, reflects the essential approach of Florent and Julien Mignon.
In tasting, Les Fetées 2020 reveals aromas of ripe citrus, white-fleshed fruit, and white flowers, interwoven with clear chalky notes and subtle saline nuances. On the palate, the progression is taut and linear, driven by vibrant freshness and a precise texture that unfolds with natural flow. The structure, slender yet deep, supports a long, measured finish, closing on a sense of balance that clearly reinforces the identity of the lieu-dit.
