The Champagne Cuis by Les Frères Mignon is a Blanc de Blancs sourced from a single vineyard located in Cuis Premier Cru in the Côte des Blancs. Planted in 1974 through massal selection of old Chardonnay vines, this parcel preserves a rare genetic heritage that gives the wine a distinctive personality deeply connected to its terroir. The exposure and chalk-rich soils shape a style defined by luminosity, tension, and remarkable mineral purity.
This edition, Vintage 2020, comes from a growing season marked by steady conditions and particularly early ripening, encouraged by warm and dry weather that produced Chardonnay with an excellent balance between concentration and freshness. Vinification and fermentation take place entirely in stainless steel without fining or filtration, following an essential approach designed to preserve the expressive transparency of the vineyard. After tirage, the wine undergoes 48 months of lees ageing. Without final dosage, this interpretation faithfully reflects the contemporary and artisanal vision of Florent and Julien Mignon.
In tasting, Cuis Millésime 2020 stands out for its elegant and precise profile marked by notes of citrus, white flowers, fresh almond, and chalk, enriched by hints of crisp fruit and delicate saline nuances. On the palate, the structure is tense and sculpted, driven by vibrant mineral energy that carries the wine toward a long, crystalline, and highly precise finish.
