Champagne Doyard
Voie d'Oger 2016
The Champagne Voie d’Oger 2016 is a cuvée of strong personality, born from Charles Doyard’s idea of expressing with purity and essentiality the mineral character of Grand Cru Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs. It is a Blanc de Blancs made exclusively from Chardonnay sourced from the Lieu-Dit Voie d’Oger, located near Avize, one of the most renowned villages in the region and classified as 100% Grand Cru.
Vinification takes place in stainless steel tanks, to best preserve the freshness and varietal expression, followed by a long aging on the lees for over 5 years, which gives the wine structure and complexity. The final dosage is minimal, just 1.2 g/l, in Extra Brut style, confirming the maison’s essential and terroir-driven approach.
On tasting, Voie d’Oger 2016 reveals itself on the nose with great aromatic precision: ripe citrus fruits, white flowers, hazelnut, fresh bread, and a marine hint of oyster shell. On the palate, it is lively, incisive, and saline, supported by a well-defined acid tension and a rich texture, which stretches out elegantly on the finish.
Produced in a limited edition of only 2,640 bottles and 246 magnums, this Champagne is an excellent interpretation of the Avize terroir, designed for those who love vertical, clean Champagnes with a strong territorial identity.
