Partition 2019
The Champagne Partition by J-M Sélèque takes shape from the dialogue between music and terroir, where 7 old-vine parcels become as many notes of a score to be composed with harmony. Across the Coteaux Sud d'Épernay and the Côte des Blancs, this cuvée is born from a respectful, near-biodynamic viticulture, conceived to translate with clarity the soul of different soils and microclimates into a sensory tale of rare finesse.
This edition, Vintage 2019, brings together 72% Chardonnay, 14% Meunier and 14% Pinot Noir grapes, with vinification and maturation entirely in 500-litre oak barrels and in the complete absence of fining and filtration. After tirage it rests on the lees for a minimum of 48 months before dégorgement, while the final dosage of 3 g/l, in an Extra Brut style, safeguards its gustatory tension and expressive clarity.
On tasting, Partition 2019 proves broad and enveloping, with a profile weaving ripe white fruit, candied citrus and delicate nuances of pastry, honey and toasted hazelnut, a clear legacy of its prolonged time in wood. On the palate it shows a vinous, creamy structure, sustained by a lively acidity and a saline finish of great precision, where the generosity of the vintage converses with a taut, mineral persistence that signs its overall and lasting elegance. Production in a limited run of 1,800 bottles and 317 magnums.
