Lieu-Dit "Le Mont Benoît" 2022
The Champagne Le Mont Benoît by Frédéric Savart takes shape from the eponymous vineyard of old vines (lieu-dit) that stretches near the Premier Cru village of Villers-aux-Nœuds, in the Petite Montagne. The expression of an artisanal approach and of meticulous attention to detail, this lieu-dit conveys with sincerity the deepest identity of its own terroir, made of finesse, energy and a marked mineral vocation, the authentic signature of this corner of Champagne.
This edition, Vintage 2022, shows a clear predominance of Pinot Noir grapes, completed by 5% Chardonnay, and is vinified in a combination of stainless steel and oak barrels with spontaneous fermentations led by indigenous yeasts, so as to unite a vibrant freshness with a rich, layered complexity. The final dosage of 3.5 g/l, in an Extra Brut style, heightens its purity and its natural tension.
On tasting, Le Mont Benoît 2022 opens on the nose with delicate notes of white fruit and fresh citrus, embellished by elegant floral nuances and by a light spicy accent that intertwines with a refined touch of yeast. On the palate it proves vibrant and fully taut, sustained by a creamy, enveloping texture and a marked minerality, which together lead toward a deep, savoury finish of long and notable persistence, where freshness and balance find perfect measure. Production in a limited run of 5,811 bottles and 482 magnums.
