Blanc de Blancs Millésime 2018
The Champagne Blanc de Blancs Vintage by Diebolt-Vallois is born in the heart of the CĂ´te des Blancs, the chosen land of Chardonnay where chalk shapes wines of rare luminosity and vertical drive. This Vintage embodies the artisanal philosophy of a family that interprets its terroir with restraint and sensitivity, seeking the transparency and mineral finesse that make this one of the most prized corners of all Champagne unique and unmistakable.
This edition, Vintage 2018, comes from a selection of Chardonnay grapes from the Grand Cru vineyards of Chouilly and the Premier Cru of Cuis, with vinification and fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. After the tirage comes a prolonged ageing on the lees of over five years, while the final dosage of 3 g/l, in an Extra Brut style, preserves the crystalline freshness and vibrant mineral tension typical of this great terroir.
On tasting, it shows a bright, luminous yellow, enlivened by a fine and persistent perlage, opening on the nose with ripe white fruit, fresh citrus and delicate floral notes enriched by a subtle chalky minerality. On the palate it stands out for its elegance and harmony, with a refreshing acidity that balances the ripeness of the fruit, while the long ageing on the lees lends enveloping nuances of brioche and honey in a long and persistent finish.
