Blanc de Blancs Millésime Magnum 2019
The Champagne Blanc de Blancs Millésime by Diebolt-Vallois comes from the heart of the Côte des Blancs, the chosen land of Chardonnay, where chalk shapes wines of rare luminosity and vertical drive. This Vintage captures the artisanal philosophy of a family that interprets its terroir with restraint and sensitivity, seeking the transparency and mineral finesse that make this, one of the most prized corners of all Champagne, unique and unmistakable.
This edition, Vintage 2019 in Magnum, is a Blanc de Blancs made from a selection of Chardonnay grapes from the Premier Cru vineyards of Cuis, with vinification and fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to safeguard the purity of the fruit and the clarity of the terroir. After tirage, the wine ages on its lees for more than five years, a process the large format makes even slower and more harmonious, while the final dosage of 3 g/l, in the Extra Brut style, preserves the crystalline freshness and vibrant mineral tension typical of this great terroir.
On tasting, it shows a pale gold hue and a fine, lively perlage, with a bouquet that unfolds in stages through citrus, green apple and white flowers before opening to brioche, light toasty notes, almond and a clear chalky hint. On the palate it reveals a very fine and creamy texture, enlivened by juicy, savoury acidity that brings drive and energy and supported by an elegant, restrained structure, leading to a long, dry and mineral finish of great persistence, with echoes of citrus and brioche. Production in a limited run of 500 Magnums.
