Coteaux Champenois Dehours & Fils
Blanc "Les Rieux" 2020
The Coteaux Champenois Blanc “Les Rieux” by Dehours is a still white wine made from 100% Chardonnay, sourced from the eponymous Lieu-dit Les Rieux, a historic parcel of old vines located near Mareuil-le-Port. The grapes, harvested at the end of the 2020 vintage, were vinified and aged in oak barrels for approximately 30 months, a long and carefully measured process that preceded bottling without filtration in May 2023. Production is extremely limited, with just 1,833 bottles made.
On tasting, Blanc Les Rieux shows an intense, finely chiselled profile with a pronounced mineral character. The nose reveals notes of ripe citrus fruits, yellow apple, white flowers and fresh almond, accompanied by a subtle chalky nuance. On the palate it is vibrant and linear, supported by a precise mineral tension that guides its evolution. The texture is fine yet energetic, with a saline, luminous persistence and citrus-driven returns that close on an elegant, deeply terroir-focused profile.
