Sermieres Blanc Magnum 2020

The Côteaux Champenois Sermiers Blanc 2020 by Emilien Feneuil is a white wine resulting from 100% Meunier grapes (vinified in white) harveste in 2020, from the Lieu-Dit "Les Ruisseaux" located within the territory of the Premier Cru in Sermiers. Vinification in Burgundy barrels with natural fermentation, followed by another 24 months of refining before bottling.

Emilien Feneuil

Émilien Feneuil is a young and talented "artisan vigneron" who works his own plots near the village of Sermiers, that is delightful Premier Cru vineyards looking east, north and west between Reims and Epernay in the Montagne de Reims area. The name of the village of Sermiers derives from the root Sarm and was born to indicate the rather salty soils, where there are many geological layers consisting of sand, marl, clay and soft limestone, releasing salinity which is then found in its wines.

All 4 plots of property - for a total of 2.37 hectares - are divided into 43% Meunier, 28% Chardonnay, 22% Pinot Noir, 7% Petit Meslier and certified organic farming is conducted, therefore without the use of herbicides, chemical or systemic fertilizers. Émilien works in a natural way, and he lets the terroir express itself at its best; he favours its diversity basing his choices on the observation of everything that is present on the soil - choices guided by a strong knowledge and sensitivity.

Natural alchemy in soils and wines is never rushed, always respecting the rhythms of nature. For all the Cuvées, fermentation takes place in wooden barrels, second-hand tonneaux, with indigenous yeasts only and no filtration. He does not use any type of "liqueur d'expédition" in the disgorging phase, but only wine from the same vintage. Real and authentic Champagne wines and not only Champagnes!
