Coteaux Champenois Dehours & Fils
Rouge "La Croix Joly" 2020
The Côteaux Champenois Rouge La Croix Joly by Dehours is a still red wine made from 100% Meunier, harvested from the eponymous Lieu-dit La Croix Joly, a gently sloping parcel facing north-east on clay soil near Troissy. The 2020 harvest was followed by vinification and ageing in oak barrels for about 24 months, before bottling in April 2023, for only 560 bottles.
In tasting, Rouge La Croix Joly stands out for a fragrant and precise bouquet, characterized by notes of wild berries, fine spices and a delicate floral touch. On the palate it is light, fresh and smooth, supported by a clear purity of fruit and a subtle tannic texture that provides balance without heaviness. An authentic, gastronomic style that sincerely expresses the potential of Meunier vinified as a red wine.
