Coteaux Champenois Emilien Feneuil
Chamery Blanc "Les Babagis" 2020
The Coteaux Champenois Chamery Blanc "Les Babagis" 2020 by Emilien Feneuil is a still white wine made from 100% Meunier vinified as a white, sourced from vines in the Premier Cru village of Chamery, in the Petite Montagne de Reims. The Lieu-Dit "Les Babagis" is distinguished by its clay-limestone soils, which lend the vines tension, energy, and a strong territorial identity. The vineyard is farmed according to organic and biodynamic principles, fully aligned with Feneuil’s respectful and artisanal philosophy.
The 2020 harvest was vinified with spontaneous fermentation from indigenous yeasts and aged in second-passage Burgundy barrels, without fining or filtration and with minimal intervention. After about 24 months of maturation, the wine was bottled, preserving the purity of the fruit and the transparency of the terroir, thanks also to the minimal use of sulfites.
On the palate, Les Babagis 2020 displays an elegant and vibrant profile: the nose opens with fresh citrus, crisp white fruit, and delicate floral tones, interwoven with mineral nuances and subtle toasted notes from the oak. The palate is tense and precise, with a fine structure, incisive minerality, and a long, savory finish. A Coteaux Champenois of rare expressiveness, authentically capturing the voice of Meunier vinified in white and the unique imprint of the Chamery terroir.
