Champagne Waris-Larmandier
Le Gros Mont 2016
The Champagne Le Gros Mont 2016 by Waris-Larmandier is a Blanc de Blancs made from 100% Chardonnay, sourced from a single parcel planted in 1987 and located near the Grand Cru village of Cramant, in the heart of the CĂ´te des Blancs. This is a terroir of excellence, where the chalky subsoil lends Chardonnay verticality, tension, and expressive depth.
The 2016 vintage, harvested under optimal conditions, expresses ripe fruit with great balance. Vinification follows an artisanal approach, respectful of the raw material and faithful to the philosophy of the Waris-Larmandier family. After tirage, the wine ages for at least 7 years on its lees, developing complexity and a layered aromatic profile. The absence of final dosage (Brut Nature) preserves the purity of the grape and the transparency of the terroir, delivering an authentic and sincere expression of its parcel of origin.
On the palate, Le Gros Mont 2016 reveals a mineral and fleshy texture, sustained by a fine and persistent mousse. The bouquet weaves together fruity notes and hints of pastry, merging into an elegant and seductive ensemble. The taste is dominated by balance: freshness accompanies a solid structure, while the finish stretches with precision and depth, leaving clear and lingering sensations of chalk and ripe citrus.
