Champagne Rousseaux-Batteux
Les Grandes Voyettes 2021
The Champagne Les Grandes Voyettes 2021 by Rousseaux-Batteux originates from the namesake lieu-dit, located in Verzenay Grand Cru, on the northern slopes of the Montagne de Reims. The plot, divided into three sections, includes 0.11 hectares of Chardonnay planted in 2013, 0.11 hectares of Pinot Noir from 1953, and 0.22 hectares of Pinot Noirfrom 1991, for a total surface of 0.45 hectares. Vineyard management excludes the use of herbicides and insecticides, favouring natural cover crops and soil tillage, following a practice of integrated pest management.
Fermentation and ageing take place in fût de chêne; bottling is carried out without filtration or cold stabilisation, allowing for the possible presence of a light natural sediment that does not affect the wine’s quality. This is followed by 36 months of ageing on the lees and a final dosage of less than 3 g/l, in Extra Brut style.
On the palate, Les Grandes Voyettes 2021 reveals an elegant and deep profile, with notes of ripe citrus, white-fleshed fruit and floral hints, enriched by toasted nuances and subtle minerality. The palate is taut and precise, supported by a harmonious structure and a fine, persistent mousse.
Limited and numbered production of just 2,202 bottles.
