Montagne VZ Millésime 2013
The Champagne Montagne VZ from Domaine Les Monts Fournois is a cuvée dominated by Pinot Noir grapes (80%), with a component of Chardonnay, sourced from selected parcels in the Grand Cru village of Verzenay, in the Montagne de Reims, and capable of delivering a balanced and precise expression of this terroir. The project led by Raphaël and Vincent Bérêche together with Juliette Alips stems from a rigorous study of Premier Cru and Grand Cru villages, with the aim of interpreting each vintage in a consistent and recognizable way.
This edition, Vintage 2013, takes shape through vinification and fermentation focused on expressive purity, followed by a long ageing process. After tirage, the wine undergoes lees ageing for at least 9 years, a choice that enhances complexity and depth. The final dosage, in Extra Brut style, preserves the wine’s essential profile and highlights its overall balance.
On the palate, Montagne VZ Vintage 2013 stands out for its intensity and precision, with notes of ripe red fruits, citrus, and subtle spicy and mineral nuances. The structure is broad and enveloping, supported by well-integrated freshness that leads to a long, balanced, and persistent finish.
