Les Hautes Vignes "Le Mont Benoit" 2018
The Champagne Les Hautes Vignes by Emmanuel Brochet takes shape in the Premier Cru village of Villers-aux-Nœuds, in the Montagne de Reims, from a single parcel (lieu-dit) “Le Mont Benoît”, where an equal blend of Meunier and Chardonnay, from vines planted in 1962 through massal selection, delivers an authentic and coherent expression of the terroir. The producer’s vision is reflected in attentive viticulture and a winemaking approach aimed at preserving the vineyard’s integrity and identity.
This edition, Vintage 2018, develops through vinification and fermentation in oak barrels, with a maturation of around 11 months on fine lees, contributing to build structure and complexity without losing precision. After tirage, the wine undergoes lees ageing for at least 6 years, enhancing depth and layered character. The final dosage of 2 g/l, in Extra Brut style, highlights a clean and focused profile.
On the palate, Les Hautes Vignes 2018 reveals a clear and dynamic profile, with notes of ripe citrus, white-fleshed fruit, and toasted and mineral nuances. The structure is broad and vibrant, supported by well-integrated freshness that leads to a long, balanced, and persistent finish. Total production amounts to 4,919 bottles.
