Champagne Geoffroy
Les Collinardins 2019
The Champagne Les Collinardins by Geoffroy comes from a single lieu-dit overlooking the terroir of Damery, on the border with Cumières, in the Rive Droite of the Vallée de la Marne. This Blanc de Blancs embodies an experimental, parcel-driven vision, the expression of a constant pursuit aimed at translating into the bottle the identity of a clay-limestone soil that brings tension and minerality. The vines, facing southwest and planted from the 1990s onward, give voice to a Chardonnay of character and depth, where every detail of the work seeks to bring out the authentic voice of this terroir.
This edition, Vintage 2019, involves vinification and maturation for around 24 months in barrel, where a slow autolysis on the lees enriches the aromatic complexity and texture of the wine. After the tirage comes a further ageing of over 36 months in bottle on its own lees, which broadens the depth and defines the profile. The cuvée is offered without final dosage, in a Brut Nature style, a choice that preserves its purity and faithfulness to the terroir. Production in a limited run of 1,484 bottles.
On the palate, Les Collinardins 2019 reveals a taut and vertical balance, where the saline minerality converses with a broad and vinous structure. The palate is incisive and well-defined, sustained by a ripe substance that lends fullness without weighing it down, while the freshness keeps the profile slender and dynamic. The persistence stretches out at length, leaving a savoury and precise trail that reflects the nature of the single cru. A long and finely chiselled finish confirms the depth and rigour of this parcel-driven cuvée. Production in a limited run of 1,484 bottles.
