The Domaine A. Limar was founded by Alexis and Jeanne Limar, young vignerons who realized their dream in La Neuville-aux-Larris, in the heart of the Vallée de la Marne. After studying at the Viti Campus in Avize, Alexis took over his grandfather’s vineyards and launched his micro-domaine in 2023. The 3 hectares are spread across La Neuville-aux-Larris, Cuchery, Belval-sous-Châtillon, and the Grand Cru of Mailly-Champagne. The first cuvée, from the 2018 vintage, included just 1,600 bottles, with plans to grow through new terroir-focused labels.

The production philosophy of Alexis and Jeanne Limar is based on an uncompromising approach, where viticulture is alive and respectful. No pesticides or herbicides are used: the vineyards are worked by hand, with deep respect for natural balance. The grapes – Pinot Noir, Meunier, and Chardonnay – genuinely express the fresh and distinctive characteristics of the soils of the Vallée de la Marne. In the cellar, minimalist practices are applied: spontaneous fermentations with indigenous yeasts, no fining or filtration, and long aging on lees, all in favor of expressive purity that enhances the identity of the terroir.

Since 2023, Alexis has chosen to vinify entirely in wood, using small Burgundy barrels for both fermentation and élevage, further refining the elegant and bold style of his wines. The first tastings reveal a surprising step forward, with already outstanding quality and a strong identity. Champagne A. Limar is establishing itself as one of the most interesting producers of the new artisanal generation, capable of stirring emotions with vibrant, deep, and authentic cuvées.
