Ambonnay Millésime 2019
The Champagne Ambonnay Millésime by André Beaufort is produced exclusively from Grand Cru vineyards in Ambonnay, a historic village on the south-eastern slope of the Montagne de Reims, in an area between Reims, Épernay and Châlons-sur-Marne. It is the expression of a powerful, sun-exposed terroir, interpreted through the Domaine’s radical vision, rooted in natural viticulture, respect for biological cycles, and the pursuit of a territorial identity free from stylistic mediation.
This 2019 vintage edition is made from a blend of 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay, sourced solely from Grand Cru classified parcels. The first fermentation takes place in oak barrels, a choice that supports the wine’s structure without altering its profile, while after tirage the wine undergoes lees ageing for at least four years. Riddling and disgorgement are carried out manually, and the Champagne is released with a low final dosage, in a Brut style.
In tasting, Ambonnay Millésime 2019 displays an intense and luminous profile, where fruit maturity is clearly expressed without losing tension. The nose reveals yellow apple and ripe citrus notes, followed by nuances of white-fleshed fruit, dried flowers, and subtle toasted hints from ageing. On the palate, the structure is broad and well-defined, with a creamy texture supported by a fine, well-integrated mousse; the mineral component guides the progression, bringing balance and lift. The finish is long and harmonious, with a precise close that confirms a vintage of energy, elegance, and solidity, capable of combining generosity with clear territorial expression.
