Champagne Dehours & Fils
Le Millésime 2018
The Champagne Le Millésime by Dehours gives a precise picture of the Vallée de la Marne through a selection of grapes from some of the most representative lieux-dits the family farms around Mareuil-le-Port. The result is a vintage Champagne with a strong identity. It combines depth and energy and shows the character of a single harvest with authenticity and transparency, in keeping with the Domaine's artisanal philosophy.
This edition, Vintage 2018, comes from a harvest that began on 3 September. It shows a clear predominance of Meunier grapes (74%) from Le Patis (lieu-dit), which bring roundness and fruity expressiveness. The remaining 26% is Pinot Noir from Les Grèves (lieu-dit), which adds structure, drive and verticality. Vinification and maturation take place in oak barrels, and after tirage the wine ages for about six years on its lees, while a final dosage of just 2.3 g/l keeps the profile very dry and precise.
On tasting, Le Millésime 2018 shows a balanced and incisive profile, with an intense, harmonious nose where energy, finesse and aromatic ripeness come together naturally. On the palate it has solid structure and well-integrated freshness that brings drive and precision. A savoury texture carries a long, refined and consistent development to a clean, vertical finish with a strong sense of identity. Total production amounts to 3,815 bottles.
