Tours-sur-Marne 2019
The Champagne Tours-sur-Marne by Boizel celebrates a rare and precious Grand Cru village, set at the meeting point between the Montagne de Reims and the Vallée de la Marne, where the clay-limestone soil rich in chalk gives the wines structure, generosity and finesse all at once. This Blanc de Noirs springs from the single-cru project conceived by the sixth generation, an exercise in precision that isolates a single terroir to reveal its most authentic soul, the one that for almost two centuries has remained hidden within the harmony of the blends.
This edition, Vintage 2019, expresses Pinot Noir in its purest interpretation, grown exclusively in the village of Tours-sur-Marne, classified Grand Cru and facing the same slope as the neighbouring village of Bouzy. Vinification and maturation take place entirely in stainless steel tanks, a choice that excludes any influence of wood and preserves the transparency of the cru, and after the tirage comes an ageing of around five years on the lees, lending depth and complexity. The final dosage of just 3.5 g/l, in an Extra Brut style, accompanies its natural elegance.
On the palate, Tours-sur-Marne 2019 reveals a golden robe shot through with amber reflections, heralded by a fine and regular perlage that traces a persistent string of bubbles. The breadth and generosity of the Pinot Noir find a counterpoint in a measured freshness, which lends momentum and tension to a full and enveloping structure. The finish, long and refined, closes on delicately spiced and lightly toasted accents, leaving a sensation of rare completeness. Production in a limited run of 2,000 bottles.
