Champagne Boizel
Grand Vintage 2018
The Champagne Grand Vintage by Boizel tells the great tradition of the Côte des Blancs and the Montagne de Reims, where the chalky soil gives the wines an unmistakable mineral tension and finesse. The vision behind this cuvée springs from the desire to capture an exceptional harvest, selecting only the parcels capable of expressing elegance and a remarkable aptitude for ageing.
This edition, Vintage 2018, shows a prevalence of Pinot Noir grapes harvested mainly from the Grand Crus of Mailly and Ambonnay and the Premier Cru of Vertus, completed by 35% Chardonnay from the Grand Crus of Cramant, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger and Chouilly. Vinification and maturation take place predominantly in stainless steel tanks, a choice that preserves purity and aromatic precision, and after the tirage comes a long ageing of six years on the lees, shaping depth and harmony. The final dosage of 5 g/l, in an Extra Brut style, leads the wine towards an accomplished balance.
On the palate, Grand Vintage 2018 reveals a luminous golden colour with bright reflections, animated by a fine and persistent perlage that traces a delicate string of bubbles. The texture turns creamy and enveloping, supported by a vivid acidity that brings freshness and momentum, while a subtle minerality lends depth and tension. The elegant structure accompanies a finish of great purity, long and vibrant, leaving a sensation of rare completeness.
