The Champagne Collection Trésor 1990 stands among the highest achievements of Boizel, the product of a landmark vintage for Champagne. The blend combines 60% Pinot Noir (Cumières, Aÿ, Bisseuil), 30% Chardonnay (Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Avize, Chouilly), and 10% Meunier (Chigny-les-Roses) — a composition that harmonizes power, elegance, and softness. After a mild winter and spring, a spring frost reduced yields, while a hot, dry summer encouraged optimal ripening, producing grapes of remarkable concentration and perfect balance. Harvested in mid-September, this vintage delivered wines of extraordinary aromatic richness and structural precision, earning its place as one of the most celebrated years of the century.
On tasting, Collection Trésor 1990 displays a brilliant straw-gold hue with a fine, continuous effervescence. The bouquet opens with toasted and spicy notes, followed by layers of ripe yellow fruit, honey, hazelnut, and subtle smoky nuances. On the palate, it is deep and harmonious, sustained by vibrant freshness and a full, silky texture that unfolds toward tones of licorice, crusty bread, and candied citrus.
