The Champagne Oger by Pierre Gimonnet is a rare and distinctive Blanc de Blancs, born entirely within the eponymous village classified as Grand Cru in the renowned area of the Côte des Blancs, where chalk rises just beneath a thin layer of soil. Its philosophy embraces the ambition to capture the soul of a single terroir, that luminous and deep ground where Chardonnay expresses a crystalline purity and a mineral tension belonging only to this prestigious corner of Champagne.

This edition, from the 2021 base harvest, draws its grapes from three historic parcels of the village, Terres de Noël et Brulis (lieu-dit) at 40%, Champs Nérons (lieu-dit) at 50% and Fondy (lieu-dit) at 10%. Vinification and fermentation take place in stainless steel to preserve purity and aromatic precision, and after the tirage follows an ageing on the lees of at least 36 months, while the final dosage of 5 g/l, in an Extra Brut style, brings out its tension and energy.

On tasting, it reveals an energetic and luminous profile, with fragrances of ripe citrus, white flowers and delicate nuances of fresh almond that announce its vertical drive. On the palate it appears taut, vibrant and perfectly defined, sustained by a marked mineral salinity and a chalky finish that lengthens the persistence, giving a character at once rigorous, refined and essential that stands as the unmistakable signature of this terroir.
