Fils de... La Vallée 2020
The Champagne Fils...de la Vallée by Maurice Choppin comes from a single grape variety: pure Meunier, harvested from old massal selection vines rooted in soils with exposed craie around the village of Damery, in the vibrant heart of the Vallée de la Marne. It is the result of meticulous vineyard work and a coherent vision, deeply connected to the identity of the grape variety and its terroir of origin.
The 2020 harvest was vinified and matured entirely in fût de chêne for 23 months, following a handcrafted approach that favors spontaneous fermentation and no filtration. After bottling, the wine rested for over 30 months on its lees, developing complexity and finesse. No final dosage: it is a Brut Nature that transparently expresses the essence of Meunier and the precision of its terroir.
On the palate, Fils...de la Vallée reveals a deep and vibrant profile: notes of dried fruit, candied citrus, fine spices, and subtle smoky nuances intertwine with a creamy texture and chalky minerality that sustain its tension. A Blanc de Noirs Champagne with a pure and resolute character, a faithful reflection of Meunier in its most authentic expression.
