Caudalies Millésime 2013
The Champagne Caudalies Millésime 2013 by De Sousa is a Blanc de Blancs of extraordinary elegance, crafted exclusively from Chardonnay sourced from old vines over 50 years of age, located in the prestigious Grands Crus villages of Avize, Oger, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger and Cramant, in the Côte des Blancs. The deep roots in the chalky soils endow the wine with a vibrant minerality and crystalline elegance.
Vinification takes place entirely in 225-litre oak barrels, about 15% of which are new, with a 10-month maturation that enriches the wine’s structure and aromatic complexity. After tirage, the wine ages on its lees for a minimum of 8 years, developing depth and harmony. The final dosage, under 3 g/l, in Extra Brut style, preserves freshness and precision.
On the palate, Caudalies Millésime 2013 displays an extremely fine perlage, aromas of ripe citrus, white flowers, toasted hazelnut, and delicate hints of vanilla. The texture is silky and enveloping, supported by a lively mineral tension and a long, impeccably balanced finish.
