The Champagne Millésime by André Clouet is the authentic expression of a family heritage deeply rooted in the Champagne terroir, where two complementary souls come together. That of the grandfather, from the Côte des Blancs, the chosen homeland of Chardonnay, and that of the grandmother, from Bouzy, the emblematic land of Pinot Noir, unite in an ancestral savoir-faire that guides the selection of the grapes, harvested exclusively from vineyards classified as Grand Cru.
This edition, Vintage 2020, is born from an equal blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes and, during vinification, matures in barrels previously used for Sauternes, a choice that enriches the cuvée with extraordinary aromatic complexity. After the tirage comes a long ageing on the lees of at least 48 months, which adds a refined oxidative dimension, while the dosage, in a Brut style, enhances its freshness and balance without ever weighing down its elegance.
On the palate, it stands out on the nose for its elegant notes of white fruit, delicate floral nuances and refined hints of honey and noble lees that reveal all its depth and complexity. It is taut, ample and enveloping, run through by a vibrant minerality and sustained by a fine, silky perlage, while the long, layered finish discreetly brings out all the nobility of a Champagne of rare, authentic and distinctive personality.
