Champagne Aurore Casanova
"Les Petites Vignes" Chardonnay
The Champagne “Les Petites Vignes” Chardonnay by Aurore Casanova presents itself as a Blanc de Blancs of great identity, obtained from Chardonnay coming from old vines planted in 1968 in the Lieu-dit Les Petites Vignes, in the prestigious Grand Cru of Puisieulx, in the Grande Montagne Nord. The cultivation strictly follows the principles of biodynamics, without the use of herbicides or chemical insecticides, in an approach that protects the natural balance of the vineyard and enhances the purity of the terroir.
This edition, the result of the 2023 base vintage with the contribution of the réserve perpétuelle, employs a spontaneous vinification with indigenous yeasts and a maturation of 11 months in fût de chêne. After tirage, the wine continues with at least 24 months of ageing on the lees, developing complexity, aromatic density, and gustatory depth. The low final dosage, in Extra Brut style, emphasizes transparency, tension, and expressive authenticity of the Chardonnay from Puisieulx.
In tasting, “Les Petites Vignes” presents itself with a bright golden yellow. On the nose, floral notes emerge, along with fresh citrus, white-fleshed fruit, and delicate hints of almond and pastry. On the palate, the lively acidity and pronounced minerality are balanced by a velvety texture, with a long and savory finish that reflects the precision of the cuvée. Produced in a limited, numbered run of only 2,877 bottles.
