"Malo" Chardonnay

The Champagne “Malo” Chardonnay by Aurore Casanova is an exceptional Blanc de Blancs, an authentic expression of Chardonnay grown on old vines in the prestigious Grand Cru of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, in the Côte des Blancs. Viticulture follows strict biodynamic principles, entirely excluding chemical herbicides and insecticides, to bring out the very best of the terroir and respect the natural balance of the vineyard.

This edition is born from the blending of the 2021, 2019, and 2017 harvests and is vinified with great care. The complete malolactic fermentation — from which the name "Malo" derives — gives it an extraordinary roundness and depth. After a long maturation on the fine lees, the wine rests for 30 months on the lees before disgorgement, a process that heightens its aromatic complexity and depth of flavour. The dosage is Extra Brut, kept to a minimum to preserve the expressive purity of the Chardonnay and its terroir.

On tasting, it stands out for its freshness and creaminess. The bouquet is refined, with citrus and floral notes enriched by nuances of hazelnut, butter, and toasted bread. On the palate, the sip is enveloping and mineral, with a long, elegant persistence that fully reflects the character of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger.
