The Champagne Blanc de Noirs by Rémi Leroy carries the name of Meurville, in the southern part of the Côte des Bar, and offers a rigorous, artisanal reading of the local Pinot Noir. The terroir, with its clay-limestone soils of Kimmeridgian origin, gives the wine an intense yet measured character in which ripeness and tension coexist in natural balance. The vigneron’s vision, aimed at a sincere expression of the vineyard and the year, results in a Champagne of deeply territorial character, free of any stylistic shortcuts.

This edition, based on the 2023 harvest and completed with 35% vin de réserve from the 2022 harvest, is a Blanc de Noirs made solely from Pinot Noir grapes. Vinification and fermentation follow a gentle pressing and take place partly in stainless steel and partly in oak barrels, with full malolactic fermentation and without fining or filtration, a choice consistent with the Domaine’s minimal approach. After tirage, the wine ages on the lees for at least 18 months and is completed by a final dosage of less than 2 g/l, in Extra Brut style, designed to preserve precision, energy and expressive transparency.

On tasting, this Blanc de Noirs shows a bright golden colour and a fine, persistent bead, while the nose gradually reveals a layered profile of ripe pear and mirabelle plum, enriched by hints of brioche and delicate spice. On the palate it shows a broad, fluid texture, supported by well-integrated freshness and a taut, saline finish that lengthens the persistence and defines a solid, vibrant balance, true to the identity of Côte des Bar Pinot Noir.
