Efflorescence 2019
The Champagne Efflorescence by Marie Courtin is a Blanc de Noirs obtained entirely from Pinot Noir grapes grown in the village of Polisot, in the Côte des Bar, where Kimmeridgian soils shape a cuvée of rare identity-driven intensity. The philosophy of this wine is based on massal selection, a practice that preserves intra-varietal genetic diversity and amplifies the deep bond between vine and territory, returning to the bottle a faithful and refined expression of the Pinot Noir of the Côte des Bar.
This edition, Vintage 2019, involves vinification and maturation in barrique that enhances aromatic complexity and structural depth, accompanying the development of the fruit with measure and precision. After tirage follows a long ageing on the lees for a minimum of 5 years that amplifies the gustatory texture, while the final dosage, in Extra Brut style, enhances the expressive purity of Pinot Noir and supports its natural freshness with elegance and clarity.
On tasting, Efflorescence 2019 reveals an enveloping olfactory profile, with hints of violet and ripe red fruits that dialogue with spicy accents and a vibrant balsamic note. On the palate a solid and savoury structure emerges, sustained by a pronounced minerality that amplifies the verticality of the mouthfeel, while the finish prolongs a taut and slightly pungent trail, sculpted by a dynamic energy and a vital persistence of rare elegance.
